Like other components of critical infrastructure, ports continue to confront the evolving and growing threat of cybersecurity. Within port staffs, this issue is cross-disciplinary, involving information technology directors and security officers, and many entities throughout the port complex. A wide array of U.S. federal agencies – Coast Guard, FBI, Secret Service, NIST and others – have a role to play in developing and implementing best practices and reporting and responding to breaches of cybersecurity. ºÃÉ«TV’s 2015 Cybersecurity Seminar will examine the ways in which cybersecurity impacts port operations and will inform attendees about emerging issues related to cyber threats, regulation of cybersecurity plans, the availability of federal funds to address cybersecurity at ports and the handling of cyber incidents at ports.
